STEEL TOWERS FOR HIGH VOLTAGE POWER TRANSMISSION LINES
Metal structures of steel towers are designed for erection of power transmission lines (PTL) with voltage of 35, 110, 220, 330, 500 or 750 kV. Manufacturing of this type of structures is carried out in accordance with the effective plans of Energosetproekt Institute, or in compliance with the customer’s metal structure drawings. List of structures manufactured by our company for construction of PTL includes a wide range of suspension, angle, dead-end and long-span towers.
Manufacturing of steel structures made of St235, St245, ST255 and St345 steel, depending on shipment destination.
Anticorrosion protection of metal structures for PTL towers can be performed as follows:
- by way of hot dip galvanizing;
- by way of cold galvanizing;
- using zinc-containing compounds TsVES (superfine zinc and ethyl silicate binding substance) (TU 495 K-A 064-04-93);
- using TSINOL (anticorrosion compound) (TU 165-1295);
- using TSINOL+ALPOL compound;
- using paintwork materials;
- using GF-021 primer;
- using BT-577 lacquer;
- using BT-177 lacquer (aluminum powder suspension in bituminous lacquer);
- other coatings as may be agreed with the customer.
Metal towers for power transmission lines are made in form of bolted structures with enlargement while mounting, or in form of welded structures, and are stocked with metal ware. Upon completion of works we carry out preliminary check assembling of the tower.
Metal PTL towers
PTL equipment in general, and steel towers of power transmission lines in particular, shall comply with the most strict quality standards, because steady operation of electricity consumers and operation safety depend on its integrity. For this reason we manufacture the PTL metal towers in the best possible compliance with branch standards and regulations. Special attention in manufacturing process is paid to the selection of protective coating for the PTL towers.
Hot dip galvanizing in manufacturing of metal structures
The most durable are steel towers with anticorrosion protection made by way of hot dip or cold galvanizing. Galvanized PTL towers are stabile and have a long period of service. Normally the operating life for such PTL towers may come to at least 25 years. A PTL tower with anticorrosion protection made by way of hot dip galvanizing has a number of advantages. Among such advantages are significant reduction of operational costs and bruise resistance of PTL tower coating. It also should be noted that there is no need in special equipment in process of welding of PTL metal towers and their structural components finished by way of hot dip galvanizing. In this case a PTL tower can be repaired using a common electrical welding machine.
Cold galvanizing
PTL metal towers with anticorrosion protection made by way of cold galvanizing also have some advantages. Such PTL equipment has a lower price, because the cold galvanizing technology is less expensive. Furthermore steel towers of this type can be finished with almost all kinds of paintwork materials. Technical characteristics of PTL towers finished by way of cold galvanizing are as good as those of more expensive models.
We also can offer some alternative methods of anticorrosion protection. To get more information about such methods you may contact the company’s manager. To order PTL towers and other products of our factory for telofon.
