Floodlight towers
Floodlight towers serve to illuminate and protect against lightnings outdoor switchgears (ORU) of power stations with a voltage of 35-500 kV, pipelines and storehouses.
Construction design and field of application of towers are determined in accordance with standard plan series 3.407.9-172 made by SEVZAPENERGOSETPROEKT Design Institute.
Floodlight towers are designed in two versions: reinforced concrete floodlight towers (PMZh) 22.8 m, 19.3 m and 16.6 m high; and metal floodlight towers (PMS) 32.5 m, 29.3 m and 24 m high.
Floodlight towers are equipped with platforms, climbing ladders and a lightning rod.
Steel floodlight towers look like free-standing posts of framed structure constructed of angle bars and steel sheets.
The company manufactures metal constructions (lightning conductor frames, lightning rods, platforms, ladders, fastening elements) for reinforced concrete floodlight towers (PMZh) according to technical plan series - 3.407.9-172 Floodlight Towers and Separately Mounted Lightning Rods.
The structures are produced from steel S235, S245, S255 and S345, depending on the shipment destination.
Designation of a floodlight tower type, mast height and foundation type shall be determined by the design organization binding the standard plan on this area, taking into account local conditions, required illumination, wind region and geological characteristics of bottom soil.
Floodlight towers are manufactured with welded or partly bolt-type connection, that’s why by transportation by railroad or by road
shipment shall be made in the following manner:
- upper section is welded;
- middle section – flat welded panels (lower base section only for PMS-24);
- lower base sections shall be fastened with bolt-type connection, with assembling at the construction site.
