SEPARATELY MOUNTED LIGHTNING RODS “MS”
Construction design and field of application of lightning rods are determined in accordance with standard plan series 3.407.9 -172 of SEVZAPENERGOSETPROEKT. Separately mounted lightning rods (МS) are developed in two versions: reinforced concrete ones 24.3m; 27.1m; 30.6m high; metal ones 31.7m; 37.0m; 40.2 m high. Separately mounted lightning rods look like free-standing posts with framed structure constructed of angle bars and steel sheets, and in contradistinction to the floodlight towers, they are completed without areas for installation of light fixtures and without ladders.
The company manufactures metal structures ( lightning rods, fastening elements) for reinforced concrete lightning rods (MZh) according to technical plan series - 3.407.9-172 Floodlight Towers and Separately Mounted Lightning Rods. Structures are made of S235, S245, S255 and S345 steels depending on the shipment destination.
We accomplish anticorrosion protection of structures in accordance with Construction Standards and Regulations 2.03.11-85 Protection of Constructional Structures from Corrosion:
- by way of hot dip galvanizing;
- by way of cold dip galvanizing;
- with paintwork materials:
- primer GF-021;
- primer GF-021 + enamel paint PF-115;
- lacquer BT-177 (aluminum powder suspension in bituminous lacquer);
- other coatings as may be agreed with the customer.
Designation of a lightning rod, its height and type of its foundation shall be determined by the design organization binding the standard plan on this area, taking into account local conditions, wind region and geological characteristics of bottom soil.
Lightning rods are manufactured with welded or partly bolt-type connection, that’s why by transportation by railroad or by road shipment shall be made in the following manner:
- upper section is welded;
- middle section – flat welded panels (lower base section only for MS-31.7);
- lower base sections shall be fastened with bolt-type connection, with assembling at the construction site.

Separately mounted lightning rods (SM) are developed in versions 15, 20, 25…75 m high.
Lightning rods look like free-standing posts with framed structure constructed of angle bars and steel sheets, and higher than 40m – can be equipped with areas and ladders.
Structures are made of St 235,St245,ST255, and St 345 steels depending on the shipment destination.

According to this documentation all lightning rods are presented in dismountable form, having bolt-type connection, which shall simplify and make cheaper shipment of this products.

For lightning rods beginning with 40 meters a version with ladders and areas is possible.
